Summer Camp

I'm at Summer Card Camp!   And this is the card I made with the first week's color combination.  I'll probably put it in any appropriate challenges, but I don't know what they are yet.

Birthday Golf

I needed a card for my uncle with a July 5 birthday, so it seemed like his card could go in some red, white and blue challenges.  He enjoys golfing, so I got out the golfer that Jen at The Tiny Blue Butterfly so generously shared with me after she found it on Google (since I couldn't find it after seeing hers!).  Hence a red white and blue hapless golfer:

I'm hoping the ribbon down the side keeps it from being too "image and sentiment on kraft stock" boring, and may add a a white button to the golf ball for that same purpose, if I can find one! I'm offering it to some of the red, white and blue or national flag color challenges:

OWTC Challenge # 56
Catch the Bug Red White and Blue Challenge
Cupcake Inspirations Challenge # 117
Sentimental Sundays Patriotic Colors Challenge
Craft Us Crazy Red White and Blue Challenge
Stamp Something Red White and Blue Challenge
Card Makin' Mamas Red White and Blue Challenge.

Birthday Balloon

I needed a birthday card that was kind of masculine, and I was inspired to have a color palette that I knew well:

So I took a favorite image, and combined it with the color palette to get this:

It's appropriate for the following challenges:
Lilypad Inspirational Challenge 3
Make it Monday 43
The Poodles Parlour Come Fly with Me
Tuesday Throwdown #54 - Masculine Card
Card Cupids - Cards for Boys
Freshly Brewed Challenge #53 - Birthday

Tuesday Trigger: Lovely as a Lullaby

This week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger -  Lovely as a Lullaby is indeed a challenge for me.  It's sweet, and it's got soft colors and gentle patterns.  Not quite my style: sweet, soft, gentle and my stuff rarely collide.  So it took some work, which I suspect is the idea.

I had some paper similar to the striped pattern, which I paper pieced onto the heart of Dawn Moore's darling digital elephant.  I echoed the colors in the elephant coloring, and the colors and polka dots in the ribbon behind the image:

It turned out sort of sweet, which is what I was going for, so I consider that it worked, after a fashion.  It was a good exercise in getting out of my regular range.

Golfing birthday

I have an old friend who's a new golfer, with a birthday coming up.  The card theme was pretty clear, and then I saw this CR84FN color challenge:

It's the perfect color challenge as he'd know the card was from me even unsigned with the aqua, since it's such a big part of my life.  I could not resist, and I greatly appreciate that Jen shared her image with me.  The card has also been  submitted to Make it Monday - Anything Goes,  Clear it Out - Keeping it Simple, and Tuesday Throwdown #54, masculine card.

CPS Sketch # 223

This sketch was a challenge for me, because it doesn't have the large open spaces I'm used to.

But, armed with one of my favorite images, I made the effort for CPS Card Sketch # 223:

The papers are DCWV Natural Stack, layered onto Crane cream card stock.  The image is one I downloaded, and I've forgotten from where, much to my dismay. So if anyone recognizes the  origin, let me know so I can give proper credit for this gorgeous image.

Colors blocked

This is a card has a  handwritten sentiment as I'm out of printer ink.  The center paper is DCWV Citrus Stack and the triangles are from DCWV Brights Stack.  I'm going to be brave and submit it to a couple of challenges.  The Play Date Cafe Challenge #86, and CAS-ual Fridays CFC # 7, Color Blocks. I'm also putting it in Fab'n'Funky Challenge #79 - Bermuda Triangle, where it seems to fit!
